How to Connect an A2DP Bluetooth Headset to PC Using a Bluetooth Adapter

This is a tutorial for those eager to connect A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) stereo Bluetooth headset to the PC / Laptop. This is often supported in Windows and a SAMSUNG headset, although the steps are all very similar.


  1. Install the Bluetooth adapter if you’ve got not already done so, and confirm to offer it a time to install the required drivers.
  2. Turn the Adapter on. Navigate your thanks to devices and locate your Bluetooth adapter. Right-click and choose properties.
  • Make sure to permit Devices to find this computer, Allow devices to attach to the present computer, Alert me when Bluetooth device wants to attach , and If you would like , Show Bluetooth within the notifications area.
  1. Set your headset into discovery mode and look for it using your PC. this is often done by clicking the devices tab under your adapter’s properties window.
  • Or right-clicking the Bluetooth icon within the system tries to clicking add device.
  1. Your adapter has found your device and it’s time to pair it. Some headsets come with a pairing code of 0000. Check your manual for your code.
  2. Once paired allow the pc to install the drivers from Windows update.
  3. Set the headset for stereo audio.
  • Open up Bluetooth devices (right-clicking the system tray icon). Right-click your headset and choose properties. Navigate over to the services tab and permit it to load the services. we’d like to form sure “Audio Sink” and “Headset” are both checked. you’ll also un-check “Hands-free Telephony”. Click Apply / OK and permit the pc to install more drivers (This might not be necessary if audio sink and headset were both checked)
  1. Select the headset. confirm your headset remains on and connected.
  • Open: instrument panel > hardware and sound >Sound.
  • Under the playback tab, you’ll see a new Bluetooth audio. it’s going to be called Stereo Audio or not depending on your headset. you would like to right-click the device and set it as default. confirm no sound is being played when setting the headset.
  1. Try playing some music or a video in windows media player. If you hear the sound then you’re ready up.
